I love the video clip.  You can't go wrong with David Bowie!  :)  

Seriously, I think learning to "accept" is crucial.  Some people confuse accepting with "giving up".  They are NOT one and the same.  

The well-known prayer that touches on acceptance seems appropriate here:

"God grant me the serenity to ACCEPT the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference".
