September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. As many know ovarian cancer is difficult to diagnose. There are some symptoms to look out for though even though they are vague but put together they can get you on the track to seeking medical attention.
- Bloating
- Pelvic or Abdominal Pain
- Difficulty Eating or Feeling Full Quickly
- Urinary Urgency
The risk factors for ovarian cancer are:
- Family History of ovarian, breast and colon cancer
- Age - the older a woman is the higher her risk is
- Obesity
Research for finding a cure, an easy way to diagnose and the cause of ovarian cancer is needed. This month many organizations are working towards the goal of fundraising as well as awareness.
