I came across this video from my Google Alert set to Myasthenia Gravis. I am amazed at the the way that this young man who is only 13 is able to describe what MG is all about. Lewis Schofield, who also has Asperger Syndrome, a form of Autism, was diagnosed with MG in April of 2008. He was most likely 12. With his ability to make this video to educate people about this disease and to inspire people at the same time, I bet that there are offers for marketing jobs coming his way.

I admire him. Plus he makes me really think that I need to be grateful for what I have. How can I complain after seeing what he is going through?

  1. Hi Connie. This is Lewis. Thanks for blogging about my video. I got here via http://www.irkedmagazine.com‘s link to your blog.

Just so you know, I was 12 years old when they told me I had MG. My birthday is on July 18th.

Thanks again for letting people know about my video. I want people to understand MG better because it’s one of those illnesses that are tricky to understand.

  2. Hi Connie. When it comes to online interactions, I have Lewis use my email address and contact information. He’s a smart kid and although he says that usually people use blog info to know where hits are coming from, some exceedingly savvy people can do more than just that with it ergo I have him use my email address et al.

  3. Hi Connie. When it comes to online interactions, I monitor where Lewis posts. That being said, I would like to let you know that Lewis was 12 years old when he was diagnosed with MG. His birthday is in July.

We’ve tried to post a couple times here but your blog only allows one post from an email address. Lewis says that it’s ok as he’ll post tomorrow morning before he heads of the hospital for this month’s round of IVIg and that should work fine.

Thank you for promoting Lewis’ video via your blog. His intention is to educate as many people as possible on the subject of MG. He’s a pretty amazing kid. :-)

  4. Lewis did an amazing job on his very informative video. I have a better understanding as what people with MG go through each day. I will try to embed this video on my blog post to help with this awareness and a link to your blog. :)
