Disney World Helps Me Forget My Illness

When I visit Disney World, which I do often, I forget that about my illnesses. I feel that I am in a place where I can forget all of my problems the minute I pass through the “gates” and see the words, “Welcome to Disney World”.

My favorite park is the Magic Kingdom because there of the different lands, including, Fantasy Land, Adventure Land, Tomorrow Land and my favorite Toon Town. I know that Toon Town is really for preschoolers, but that’s where I get to visit with my all time favorite Disney character, the one that I consider my boyfriend, Mickey Mouse!

There are so many attractions in Disney World, but I think the one I like best is Mickey PhilharMagic. This is a 3D Movie that features Donald Duck, who tries to take over Mickey’s orchestra by wearing his wizard hat. Donald then goes on adventures that feature scenes from Disney Movies. The effects from this movie and the music always have me laughing. The music has me singing along (much to the regret of my family).

One of the best things about Disney World is that it is accessible to people with disabilities. I use my scooter due to having to walk long distances. I never have trouble getting around, including using the buses, monorails and getting into the attractions.

marypoppinsWhen I went into a remission (actually it turned out to be a big improvement and not a true remission) I wanted to celebrate. I went to Community Hall and asked what could be done. They gave me and my family passes to the VIP section of the parade that day. We totally enjoyed ourselves! We were up close to the parade and the characters stopped by so we could take photos. Disney parades are a joy to see, but to be up close and personal makes it even better, if that’s possible.

So if you are disabled or have health problems, don’t think that you can’t enjoy yourself at Disney World. You will need a place to order your Disney Tickets of course and I suggest you do that in advance to avoid waiting in line. And don’t forget to have a blast!

Dental Hygieniest Dumps Me

It’s been three good years with me and my dental hygienist. We had a good thing going. I would see her every three months like clockwork. I brush two to three times a day, floss every day and if I have any problems in between my scheduled visits, I call or go in. When you have Sjogren’s Syndrome, you have to take care of your teeth or you can lose them.

I missed my appointment because I was sick. Same thing happened with my re-scheduled one. Now we are on appointment number 5. When I called to re-schedule, it happened. She didn’t even have the nerve to tell me herself. She’s ending it. If I lived in Texas, I’d be looking for a Plano Dentist, but I’ll have to take a new hygienist instead.

flufashionmaskIt’s good to laugh, especially when it’s laughing at something that is pretty ridiculous but is probably making someone a lot of money. What would you think if you saw someone wearing a bandana mask like this from FluFashion? They are real respirator masks but “decorated” to look hip and gangsta. Did I just write that?

I’m sure we’ll be seeing them on planes and trains since VP Joe Biden made his famous statement a few weeks ago. Or maybe not.

Extra Income For Those With Health Issues

I am always on the lookout for work that can be done from home for people like me who have a chronic illness (or a few), any health issues or are disabled. I came across three new easy ways. You won’t make millions, but these fit in with people who can’t keep a regular schedule, may need time off often and just want to make some money on the side. They are all legitimate and are considered independent contractor positions.

  • youdatalogo YouData - This is the most simple projects to take part in. You do need to have access to a cell phone with texting ability but only to sign up. Then you fill out a few surveys, just what info you’d like to divulge. Based on that, you are given some ads and websites to view. You earn money for each ad and site. Every Friday, you will get money in your PayPal account.
  • mylot-48 MyLot - is a site where you get paid to participate in discussions and take part in tasks. It’s a lot of fun because you get to meet new people, read about people’s opinions and write your own. You can also promote your blogs, websites, etc. on your profile. This does take some time to earn money, but it’s worth it to me. I’ve met a lot of people with health issues on this site.
  • likaholixLikaholix - I’ve been on this site for a few months now, just because it’s exciting. They do have contests almost all the time, but now they’re offering money for every person you invite. Right now there’s a contest to win $100. All you need to do is add things that you like. Of course they have to be original and that’s where the thinking comes in. You can add anything from foods to websites.

None of these sites ask you for money to join. They don’t promise you an income to live off of and they have been doing well for me. If you have any questions about any of these sites, leave me a comment. Here’s to some extra money in your pocket!

Edited to add, thanks to Ricky from Bedbound Unlimited, YouData and Likaholix are only available to people residing in the US. For MyLot, you must have a PayPal account, but you can reside outside of the US.

    Stroke Awareness And Treatment

May is Stroke Awareness Month. Since May is also the month of Mother’s Day, I wanted to focus on women and strokes. I read a some information from the National Stroke Association and learned that twice as many women die from stroke than breast cancer every year and that more women die of stroke than men. That astounded me. So be sure to learn about the symptoms of stroke and how to prevent a stroke.

I also learned that stem cell therapy is being used as a form of treatment for stroke patients. I have been a stem cell donor and it is a difficult process. You are injected with a medication to increase your bone marrow supply and it hurts. But there is a better way to produce stem cells through C’elle.

What C’elle does is enable women to collect their menstrual blood, which is stored and frozen. In the future stem cells can be removed and used to treat or prevent diseases like Parkinson’s, Leukemia and Stroke. This process is easy to use and not expensive. There are so many benefits for you and your family.

There are different ways to pay for this service and they run deals for various reasons. There are codes that can help you save money and there’s even gift certificates. This may make a good Mother’s Day present!
