Stroke Awareness And Treatment

May is Stroke Awareness Month. Since May is also the month of Mother’s Day, I wanted to focus on women and strokes. I read a some information from the National Stroke Association and learned that twice as many women die from stroke than breast cancer every year and that more women die of stroke than men. That astounded me. So be sure to learn about the symptoms of stroke and how to prevent a stroke.

I also learned that stem cell therapy is being used as a form of treatment for stroke patients. I have been a stem cell donor and it is a difficult process. You are injected with a medication to increase your bone marrow supply and it hurts. But there is a better way to produce stem cells through C’elle.

What C’elle does is enable women to collect their menstrual blood, which is stored and frozen. In the future stem cells can be removed and used to treat or prevent diseases like Parkinson’s, Leukemia and Stroke. This process is easy to use and not expensive. There are so many benefits for you and your family.

There are different ways to pay for this service and they run deals for various reasons. There are codes that can help you save money and there’s even gift certificates. This may make a good Mother’s Day present!

  1. Hi Connie,

I would like to place your Blog on my blogroll. Would that be ok with you? An exchange would be awesome too. I just entered the Disabled world (as in applying for disability), although I have had pain for so long, I just kept on trying to work!! Who pays the bills?? Now I had to get real and change a lot in my mind. Just leaving my beloved profession of nursing was such a hard thing for me to do. So, from one lady in pain to another…Gentle Hugs and I would like to get to know you better! Such a beautiful blog…

  2. I didn’t know you were a donor! I have thought about it, but have never done it.

I may try the c’elle eventually. I think it’s a great way to prepare for the future.
