Redecorating with Inviting Home

Inviting Home is online company that provides quality products for your home. The products they offer are usually only available to professional builders, interior designers, etc. but by shopping online it’s like cutting out the middleman. So the prices are a lot less expensive than buying through a professional. But, the information on the website is there for you. For each type of product sold, there are pages devoted to detailed images, installation and what works in your home. You can also call customer service and view the decorating ideas on the site too. If you choose to become a member of Inviting Home, you will receive a newsletter, discounts and information on promotions.

We are still redecorating my home. It’s been a long process but there’s still a lot of work to do. In our den, my husband built a new wall but we still need to add molding to the bottom of the wall. We’re also thinking of adding some around the wall, because it is a recessed wall.  I would love to use something like this:

While looking through the site, I also found Corbels which would really add beauty to my kitchen counters, especially the part that hangs into the living room area of my home. I found photos of people who did the same thing in the Inspiration Gallery section called “Sharing Success”. Plus, I love any company that has their own blog.

Finishing up my home is something I need to get done to reduce my stress levels. I hate when I’m not feeling well, I’m sitting around the house and I look at all of the things that still need to be done here.

Holiday Time For Your Eyes

With Zenni Optical I can afford to purchase eyeglasses that portray the various styles I like. Now I can even own a pair of Holiday frames.

I love to wear Christmas jewelery and shirts. I do the same thing for other holidays like the Fourth of July, Easter and even St. Patrick’s Day. To be able to match my glasses to my clothing and mood would complete the picture for sure!

I saw these red frames that have white snowflakes on them and even though I live in Florida, I’d love to own a pair. I wear a lot of red with Christmas coming so soon. I have a red faux fur collar jacket that these would look stunning with.

There is a big selection of frames in red, green, blue and frames with holiday motifs like Christmas stockings, stained glass, horse drawn sleds, and so many more. I spent a lot of time looking through them. It was hard to choose just one favorite.

I know first hand that Zenni Optical has very good quality eyeglasses. My older daughter and her fiancee’ each bought a few pairs and were thrilled with them. They said that the customer service was terrific, even advising them that they had made some mistakes in ordering.

When they received their glasses, they saw that they were just like those sold at stores but for a fraction of the cost. They compared them to what they owned previously and couldn’t tell the difference based on the quality of the frames.

So why shouldn’t I splurge and get a few pairs of glasses instead of just one? After all it is the holidays.

Still Shopping or Just Started?

Since I did so well on my Black Friday shopping spree, I’m going to shop some more tomorrow for Cyber Monday. A lot of sites that had Black Friday sales are having sales tomorrow. I still need to buy gifts for my older daughter who finally gave me her gift list and some other family members. I may even be able to buy some things for my husband this year depending on how well I do with sales tomorrow.

I was thinking about getting him a watch as I read that men like to own more than one watch. He never tells me what he wants as a gift so I end up buying him small things (if we exchange gifts at all) that I know he doesn’t even like. I saw this website for replica watches that is having a sale tomorrow. I’ll be checking it out along with some others.

Holiday Shopping Made Easy

Instead of actually going to the stores to see if I could get any of the Black Friday sale items I needed, I found a new way to save money but get those low priced gifts. I shopped online. It was easy and it was exciting too.

There was no need for me to wait out in the cold early in the morning, fight the crowds and then get frustrated to find that what I wanted wasn’t there. Nope. All I did was take a long nap after eating a big Thanksgiving meal. That’s a given anyway! Then I just stayed up very late online.

I had all of the product names with the stores ready. I had already signed up for a Black Friday newsletter which kept me up to date on when sales were starting, additions to sale items, etc. So I waited for emails to come in about when the stores sites would start the sales.

As soon as the email hit, I went to work! I got a lot of my shopping done in about two hours.  My best deals were a Disney bathrobe and pajamas for $12, a compact flash for under $20 and a special DVD for $6.

I plan on making this a yearly event now. For those of us who have trouble getting out especially when we know it will be crowded and hectic this is the way to get your shopping done easily.

Freshwater Pearls Get Well Gift

I love jewelery especially earrings. Pearls are one of my favorite type of “good” jewelery to wear when I’m going somewhere formal. The good thing about pearls though is that you can wear them as casual wear too. Freshwater pearls are very popular now. They are recognized for their beauty and luster. Those that are round are the best quality.

I made a video about the earrings I received. It is tongue in cheek. I hope you enjoy the humor behind it.

Get Well Gifts

Give Her the Gift She'll Never Forget! -CLICK HERE!

When I’ve been in the hospital or have been sick for a long time, especially when I’m stuck at home I love to get small gifts even if it’s a card in the mail. The mail brightens my day. It’s something to look forward to. Receiving a card or letter, instead of bills makes me happy.

People often wonder what to buy someone who’s sick or hospitalized. It depends. If they are able to read, a book is a good choice. If you know them well, you’ll know what they enjoy reading, if not a quick read, especially something funny is perfect. Some people enjoy puzzle books like sudoku, word finds or crossword puzzles. When I was zonked out on pain meds I craved coloring books and a new box of crayons. The smell of the crayons had me dreaming of being a child again and I could handle coloring but not reading.

Females may want to feel that their special someone still thinks of them in a romantic way even if they aren’t looking their best. Why not surprise her with a beautifully wrapped gold anklet? Flowers and a card can do the trick too. I found out about awesome huge roses that are 5-6 feet tall and are very unique. Maybe not a good idea for the hospital but for home, perfect!

Remember to think of what your friend or family member likes and go with that. You may have to tweek the idea a bit but that’s where the understanding and empathy come in.
